ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 2744

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدٍ , وَعَفَّانُ , قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِلَالٌ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ عُمَرُ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى حَصِيرٍ قَدْ أَثَّرَ فِي جَنْبِهِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، لَوْ اتَّخَذْتَ فِرَاشًا أَوْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا ؟ فَقَالَ : " مَا لِي وَلِلدُّنْيَا ؟ مَا مَثَلِي وَمَثَلُ الدُّنْيَا ، إِلَّا كَرَاكِبٍ سَارَ فِي يَوْمٍ صَائِفٍ ، فَاسْتَظَلَّ تَحْتَ شَجَرَةٍ سَاعَةً مِنْ نَهَارٍ ، ثُمَّ رَاحَ وَتَرَكَهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once Sayyiduna Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the presence of the Messenger of Allah. He saw that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting on a mat, and its marks had appeared on his blessed side. He said, "O Messenger of Allah! If you had a softer bed made from this, how good it would be!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "What do I have to do with the world? My example and the example of the world is like that of a rider who travels all day in the summer, and for a short while takes shade under a tree, then leaves it and moves on."
