It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked towards the mountain of Uhud and said: "By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), I do not like that the mountain of Uhud be turned into gold for the family of Muhammad, and that I keep spending from it in the way of Allah, and when I die, even two dinars remain with me, except for those two dinars which I keep aside for the repayment of a debt, if there is any debt." Thus, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, he did not leave behind any dinar or dirham, nor any slave or slave-girl, but his armor was held as collateral with a Jew, against which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had taken thirty sa’ of barley.
