حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ , عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ , عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ , عَنْ مَوْلًى لِآلِ الزُّبَيْرِ , قَالَ : إِنَّ بِنْتَ زَمْعَةَ , قَالَتْ : أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقُلْتُ : إِنَّ أَبِي زَمْعَةَ مَاتَ , وَتَرَكَ أُمَّ وَلَدٍ لَهُ , وَإِنَّا كُنَّا نَظُنُّهَا بِرَجُلٍ , وَإِنَّهَا وَلَدَتْ , فَخَرَجَ وَلَدُهَا يُشْبِهُ الرَّجُلَ الَّذِي ظَنَنَّاهَا بِهِ , قَالَ : فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَهَا : " أَمَّا أَنْتِ فَاحْتَجِبِي مِنْهُ , فَلَيْسَ بِأَخِيكِ , وَلَهُ الْمِيرَاثُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Saudah bint Zam’ah (may Allah be pleased with her) that once I presented myself before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: “My father Zam’ah has passed away and he has left behind an umm walad slave woman, whom we suspect with a certain man, because she has given birth to a child who resembles that man whom we suspect her with.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Observe veiling from that boy, for he is not your brother, but he will receive inheritance.”
