حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ الْعَمِّيُّ أَبُو عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ , حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورٌ , عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ , عَنْ مَوْلًى لِابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ , يُقَالُ لَهُ : يُوسُفُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ أَوْ الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ , عَنِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ سَوْدَةَ بِنْتِ زَمْعَةَ , قَالَتْ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالَ : إِنَّ أَبِي شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَحُجَّ , قَالَ : " أَرَأَيْتَكَ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَى أَبِيكَ دَيْنٌ , فَقَضَيْتَهُ عَنْهُ , قُبِلَ مِنْكَ ؟ " , قَالَ : نَعَمْ , قَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَاللَّهُ أَرْحَمُ , حُجَّ عَنْ أَبِيكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Saudah bint Zam’ah (may Allah be pleased with her) that a man came to the Prophet’s court and said, “My father has become old and cannot perform Hajj (what is the ruling for him?)” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Tell me, if your father had a debt and you paid it off, would it not be accepted?” He replied, “Certainly, it would be accepted.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Then Allah is Most Merciful; perform Hajj on behalf of your father.”
