وَمِنْ حَدِيثِ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَاAnd from the hadith of Umm Hani bint Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with her)
Hadith 27390

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ يَذْكُرُ , عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ , عَنْ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ , قَالَتْ : " رَأَيْتُ فِي رَأْسِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ضَفَائِرَ أَرْبَعًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once came to Makkah Mukarramah, at that time the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) hair was divided into four sections like four braids.
