ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 2739

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ يَعْنِي الدَّسْتُوَائِيَّ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا تَفْتَخِرُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ، فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، لَمَا يُدَهْدِهُ الْجُعَلُ بِمَنْخَرَيْهِ ، خَيْرٌ مِنْ آبَائِكُمْ الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not boast about your ancestors who died in the time of ignorance. By Him in Whose hand is my soul, the dust that falls into the nostrils of a Muslim is better than your ancestors who died in the time of ignorance."
