ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 2737

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " وَاللَّهِ مَا صَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَهْرًا كَامِلًا قَطُّ ، غَيْرَ رَمَضَانَ ، وَكَانَ إِذَا صَامَ ، صَامَ حَتَّى يَقُولَ الْقَائِلُ وَاللَّهِ لَا يُفْطِرُ ، وَيُفْطِرُ إِذَا أَفْطَرَ ، حتى يَقُولُ الْقَائِلُ وَاللَّهِ لَا يَصُومُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not observe complete fasting in any month except the month of Ramadan. However, sometimes he would fast with such continuity that people would say that now the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) will not leave any fast, and sometimes he would break his fasts with such continuity that people would say that now the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) will not fast anymore.
