حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُؤَمَّلِ , عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ , عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ , عَنْ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي تَجْرَاةَ , قَالَتْ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَطُوفُ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ , وَالنَّاسُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ , وَهُوَ وَرَاءَهُمْ , وَهُوَ يَسْعَى حَتَّى أَرَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ مِنْ شِدَّةِ السَّعْيِ , يَدُورُ بِهِ إِزَارُهُ , وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : " اسْعَوْا , فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ كَتَبَ عَلَيْكُمْ السَّعْيَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Habibah bint Abi Tajrah (may Allah be pleased with her) that we entered the house of Abu Husain with some women of the Quraysh, at that time the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was performing Sa’i between Safa and Marwah, and due to running, his lower garment would turn around, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kept performing Sa’i and kept telling the companions (may Allah be pleased with them): “Perform Sa’i, for Allah has made Sa’i obligatory upon you.”
