It is narrated from Hazrat Fatimah bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her) that my husband Abu Amr bin Hafs bin Mughirah sent me a message of divorce one day. I presented myself before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will not receive any housing or maintenance, and you should spend your waiting period (‘iddah) in the house of your paternal cousin Ibn Umm Maktum." And he said: "Housing and maintenance are for the one with whom reconciliation is possible."
