ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 2723
اُردوEn
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ فِي سَفَرٍ ، قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِي السَّفَرِ ، وَالْخَلِيفَةُ فِي الْأَهْلِ ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الضُّبْنَةِ فِي السَّفَرِ ، وَالْكَآبَةِ فِي الْمُنْقَلَبِ ، اللَّهُمَّ اقْبِضْ لَنَا الْأَرْضَ ، وَهَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا السَّفَرَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to set out on a journey, he would recite this supplication: «اَللّٰهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْخَلِيفَةُ فِي الْأَهْلِ اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الضُّبْنَةِ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْكَآبَةِ فِي الْمُنْقَلَبِ اَللّٰهُمَّ اقْبِضْ لَنَا الْأَرْضَ وَهَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا السَّفَرَ» "O Allah! You are my companion in travel and the guardian of my family in my absence. O Allah! I seek refuge with You from the hardship of travel and distress upon return. O Allah! Fold the earth for us and make this journey easy for us."
