ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 2718

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حِبَّانُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُقَيْلُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خَيْرُ الْأَصْحَابِ أَرْبَعَةٌ ، وَخَيْرُ السَّرَايَا أَرْبَعُ مِائَةٍ ، وَخَيْرُ الْجُيُوشِ أَرْبَعَةُ آلَافٍ " . (حديث مرفوع) (حديث موقوف) قَالَ : قَالَ : وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَنْ يُغْلَبَ قَوْمٌ عَنْ قِلَّةٍ يَبْلُغُونَ أَنْ يَكُونُوا اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ أَلْفًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best companions for a journey are four people, the best detachment consists of four hundred individuals, the best army consists of four thousand soldiers, and a group of twelve thousand cannot be overcome due to being few in number."
