It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Shurayh (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Avoid sitting on the roads. Whoever must sit there should fulfill its rights." We asked: O Messenger of Allah! What are its rights? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Lowering the gaze, responding to greetings, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong."
