حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، قَالَتْ : " كُنَّا نُؤَدِّي زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مُدَّيْنِ مِنْ قَمْحٍ بِالْمُدِّ الَّذِي تَقْتَاتُونَ بِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Asma that during the blessed era of the Prophet (peace be upon him), we used to give two mudd of wheat as Sadaqat-ul-Fitr, according to the measure with which you measure.
