حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، وَكَانَتْ مُحْصِيَةً . ح وَعَنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهَا : " أَنْفِقِي أَوْ انْضَخِي ، أَوْ انْفَحِي هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا ، وَلَا تُوعِي فَيُوعِيَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكِ ، وَلَا تُحْصِي فَيُحْصِي اللَّهُ عَلَيْكِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Asma that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to me: Be generous and open-handed, and spend (in the way of Allah); do not hoard, otherwise Allah will also withhold from you. And do not spend by counting (begrudgingly), lest Allah also start giving you by counting.
