حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي وَهْبُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، قَالَتْ : مَرَّ بِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا أُحْصِي شَيْئًا وَأَكِيلُهُ ، قَالَ : " يَا أَسْمَاءُ , لَا تُحْصِي ، فَيُحْصِيَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكِ " , قَالَتْ : فَمَا أَحْصَيْتُ شَيْئًا بَعْدَ قَوْلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ مِنْ عِنْدِي ، وَلَا دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ ، وَمَا نَفِدَ عِنْدِي مِنْ رِزْقِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا أَخْلَفَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Asma that once the Prophet (peace be upon him) passed by me while I was counting and measuring something. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "O Asma, do not keep by counting, otherwise Allah will also give to you by counting." After this instruction of the Prophet (peace be upon him), I never counted anything that went from me or came to me, and whenever any provision from Allah with me finished, Allah granted me its substitute.
