حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ " يَقْرَأُ ، وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي نَحْوَ الرُّكْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَصْدَعَ بِمَا يُؤْمَرُ ، وَالْمُشْرِكُونَ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فَبِأَيِّ آلاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ سورة الرحمن آية 13 " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Asma that one day I saw the Prophet (peace be upon him) praying in front of the Black Stone. This was at a time when the Prophet (peace be upon him) had not yet been commanded to invite the polytheists openly. I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) reciting this verse in that prayer, while the polytheists were also listening: "So which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?"
