حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ , مَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُنَّ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ , فَلَا تَرْفَعْ رَأْسَهَا حَتَّى يَرْفَعَ الْإِمَامُ رَأْسَهُ " مِنْ ضِيقِ ثِيَابِ الرِّجَالِ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Asma that I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: "Any woman among you who believes in Allah and the Last Day should not raise her head from prostration until we men have raised our heads." In fact, the men's lower garments were short, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) disliked that the gaze of women might fall upon the private parts of men.
