قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِ يَدِهِ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ ، وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ ، وَهِيَ أُمُّ وَلَدِ الْعَبَّاسِ أُخْتُ مَيْمُونَةَ ، قَالَتْ : أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَرَضِهِ ، فَجَعَلْتُ أَبْكِي ، فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " مَا يُبْكِيكِ ؟ " , قُلْتُ : خِفْنَا عَلَيْكَ ، وَمَا نَدْرِي مَا نَلْقَى مِنَ النَّاسِ بَعْدَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " أَنْتُمْ الْمُسْتَضْعَفُونَ بَعْدِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm al-Fadl that during the illness of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) passing, one day I came into the presence of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and began to weep. The Prophet (peace be upon him) raised his head and said, "Why are you weeping?" I submitted, "We fear about you (your departure from this world), and we do not know how people will treat us after you." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "After me, you people will be considered weak."
