ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 2669

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ ، عَنْ حَنَشٍ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ : أَنَّهُ رَكِبَ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا غُلَامُ إِنِّي مُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ : احْفَظْ اللَّهَ يَحْفَظْكَ ، احْفَظْ اللَّهَ تَجِدْهُ تُجَاهَكَ ، وَإِذَا سَأَلْتَ فاَسْأَلْ اللَّهَ ، وَإِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَعِنْ بِاللَّهِ ، وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّ الْأُمَّةَ لَوْ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يَنْفَعُوكَ ، لَمْ يَنْفَعُوكَ إِلَّا بِشَيْءٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ اللَّهُ لَكَ ، وَلَوْ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يَضُرُّوكَ ، لَمْ يَضُرُّوكَ إِلَّا بِشَيْءٍ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ ، رُفِعَتْ الْأَقْلَامُ ، وَجَفَّتْ الصُّحُفُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that one day he was riding behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "O boy! I am teaching you some words: Guard (the commands of) Allah, Allah will guard you. Guard Allah, you will find Him before you. When you ask, ask from Allah. When you seek help, seek help from Allah. And know! If the whole world gathers together to benefit you, they cannot benefit you except with what Allah has written for you. And if they all gather to harm you, they cannot harm you except with what Allah has written for you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried."
