Musnad Ahmad

Syedna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to teach us the Tashahhud just as he used to teach us the Noble Qur’an, and he used to say: «التَّحِيَّاتُ الْمُبَارَكَاتُ الصَّلَوَاتُ الطَّيِّبَاتُ لِلّٰهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ (قَالَ حُجَيْنٌ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكَ) أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللّٰهِ الصَّالِحِينَ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللّٰهِ» “All verbal, blessed, physical, and financial acts of worship are for Allah. O Prophet (peace and blessings be upon you)! May Allah’s peace, mercy, and blessings descend upon you. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. And I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah and that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the Messenger of Allah.”
