Hadith 2664

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also performed Hajj Tamattu' until he passed away, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) also performed it until he passed away, Sayyiduna Umar and Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with them both) also performed it until they too passed away. The first person to prohibit it was Sayyiduna Amir Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him). I am astonished at his statement, while he himself narrated to me that he had trimmed the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) hair with scissors.
