حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " شُغِلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الظُّهْرِ ، فَصَلَّاهُمَا بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was unable to perform the two rak'ahs after Zuhr, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed them after Asr. I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah, you have not performed this prayer before." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "In fact, a delegation from Banu Tamim had arrived, because of which the two rak'ahs that I usually perform after Zuhr were missed."
