حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَتْ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الظُّهْرِ ، وَإِنَّهُ جَاءَ وَفْدٌ ، فَشَغَلُوهُ ، فَلَمْ يُصَلِّهِمَا ، فَصَلَّاهُمَا بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform two rak'ahs after the Zuhr prayer. Once, a delegation from Banu Tamim arrived, due to which the two rak'ahs that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform after Zuhr were missed, and he performed them after Asr.
