حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي بُدَيْلٌ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " الْمُتَوَفَّى عَنْهَا زَوْجُهَا لَا تَلْبَسُ الْمُعَصْفَرَةَ مِنَ الثِّيَابِ ، وَلَا الْمُمَشَّقَةَ ، وَلَا الْحُلِيَّ ، وَلَا تَخْتَضِبُ ، وَلَا تَكْتَحِلُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A woman whose husband passes away should neither wear dyed or deep-colored clothes, nor wear any jewelry, nor apply henna, nor apply kohl.
