حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْمُهَلَّبِيُّ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّهَا أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ , أَنَّ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ سَأَلَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَسْتَحْيِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ ، هَلْ عَلَى الْمَرْأَةِ غُسْلٌ إِذَا احْتَلَمَتْ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، إِذَا رَأَتْ الْمَاءَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that once Hazrat Umm Sulaim presented herself in the court of the Messenger and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Allah does not shy away from the truth, please tell me, if a woman experiences a wet dream, is ghusl (ritual bath) obligatory upon her as well?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "Yes, if she sees water (i.e., discharge)."
