حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَتْ : مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَامَ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَصِلُ شَعْبَانَ بِرَمَضَانَ .
It is narrated from Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that I never saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fasting two consecutive months, except that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would join the fasting of Sha'ban with that of Ramadan.
