Hadith 26552

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْلَى آلِ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَتْ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يُجْنِبُ ، ثُمَّ يَنَامُ ، ثُمَّ يَنْتَبِهُ ، ثُمَّ يَنَامُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that sometimes ghusl would become obligatory upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) by choice, then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would sleep in that state, then wake up, and then sleep again.
