Hadith 26414

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : لَمَّا مَرِضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , دَعَا ابْنَتَهُ فَاطِمَةَ ، فَسَارَّهَا ، فَبَكَتْ ، ثُمَّ سَارَّهَا ، فَضَحِكَتْ ، فَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ , فَقَالَتْ : أَمَّا حَيْثُ بَكَيْتُ ، فَإِنَّهُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ مَيِّتٌ ، فَبَكَيْتُ ، ثُمَّ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنِّي أَوَّلُ أَهْلِهِ لُحُوقًا بِهِ ، فَضَحِكْتُ .
When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, I asked her again about this matter. She told me that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) confided to me that Gabriel (peace be upon him) used to review the Qur'an with me once every year, but this year he did it twice. I think my time of departure is near, and among my family, you will be the first to join me, and I will be your best forerunner. It was at this that I wept. Then he said, "Are you not pleased that you will be the leader of all the women of this Ummah?" At this, I began to laugh.
