It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reached Makkah on the morning of the fourth of Dhul-Hijjah along with his companions (may Allah be pleased with them), having entered into the state of Ihram for Hajj. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) to convert it into Umrah, except for the one who had a sacrificial animal with him. Thus, after performing Umrah, shirts were worn, incense burners began to emit fragrance, and marriages with women began to take place.
