حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي , عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي محمد بن مُسْلم الزُّهْري وَهِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ , كلاهما ، حَدَّثَنِي عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : " كَانَتْ بَرِيرَةُ عِنْدَ عَبْدٍ , فَعُتِقَتْ , فَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمْرَهَا بِيَدِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Barirah was married to a slave. When she was freed, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave her the choice regarding her affairs.
