ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 2620

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابٌ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ عَلَى أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، وَهُوَ عِنْدَ رَجُلٍ قَدْ قَتَلَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " دَعُوهُ وَسَلَبَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was standing by a man whom he had killed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave the belongings of the slain man with him." (Because at that time, the principle was that in the battlefield, whoever killed someone would receive his belongings.)
