حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ , عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مَاهَكَ , عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : " أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْفَرَعِ مِنْ كُلِّ خَمْسِ شِيَاهٍ شَاةٌ , وَأَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَعُقَّ عَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةً , وَعَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us that for a boy's aqeeqah, two goats of equal value should be sacrificed, and for a girl, one goat. He also commanded that for every five, one goat should be sacrificed.
