Mu’adhah says that once I was in the service of Umm al-Mu’minin Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) when a woman asked her about the Prophet’s continuous fasting. She replied, “Can you do deeds like the Prophet (peace be upon him)? His past and future sins were forgiven, and his deeds were voluntary.”
