Hadith 26122

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ , وَأَبُو عَامِرٍ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ , عَنْ يَحْيَى , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِاللَّيْلِ ؟ فَقَالَتْ : " كَانَ يُصَلِّي ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً , يُصَلِّي ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ , ثُمَّ يُوتِرُ , ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ , فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ قَامَ فَرَكَعَ , وَيُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ بَيْنَ النِّدَاءِ وَالْإِقَامَةِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ " .
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray thirteen rak'ahs at night: first eight rak'ahs, then witr, then he would sit and pray two rak'ahs, and when he wanted to go into ruku', he would stand up and then perform ruku'. Then between the adhan and the prayer of Fajr, he would pray two rak'ahs.
