حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ يَعْنِي أَبَا دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيَّ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَمَرَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ بِالنَّاسِ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ , فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ قَاعِدًا , وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ , وَالنَّاسُ خَلْفَهُ " .
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that during his final illness, they were waiting for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a message to Hazrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) to lead the people in prayer. Hazrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) stood and led the prayer, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to pray while sitting, and the people were behind Hazrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him).
