حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ , حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ , عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , " أَنَّ نِسَاءً مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ كُنَّ يَشْهَدْنَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصُّبْحَ , ثُمَّ يَنْقَلِبْنَ مُتَلَفِّعَاتٍ بِمُرُوطِهِنَّ إِلَى بُيُوتِهِنَّ , مَا يُعْرَفْنَ مِنَ الْغَلَسِ " .
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that women used to participate in the Fajr prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then they would wrap themselves in their sheets in such a way that no one could recognize them.
