It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the use of naqir, dubba, and muzaffat, and said: "Drink water only from those vessels which can be tied shut (whose mouth can be closed)." People then made water skins from camel hides and began to use goat skin to close their mouths. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to know of this, he said: "Drink water only from those vessels whose upper part is also a part of the vessel itself."
