Hadith 26050

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when it was said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that such-and-such person is ill and is not eating anything, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: "Take porridge, for although it may not be pleasing to the taste, it is very beneficial." And he would say: "Feed it to him. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, it cleanses your stomach just as one of you washes his face with water and removes dirt." Also, if any member of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) household fell ill, a pot would remain on the fire continuously until one of two things happened (either death or recovery).
