Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that when Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was spending the last moments of this worldly, mortal life, I recited a verse of poetry (the translation of which is) «وَأَبْيَضَ يُسْتَسْقَى الْغَمَامُ بِوَجْهِهِ . . . رَبِيعُ الْيَتَامَى عِصْمَةٌ لِلْأَرَامِلِ» "He is the one with such a beautiful face that by the blessing of his radiant countenance, rain is sought; he is the support of orphans and the protector of widows." Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah! This is indeed the attribute of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
