ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 2599

(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ طَاوُسًا ، قَالَ : " سُئِلَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ : قُلْ لا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَى سورة الشورى آية 23 , قَالَ : فَقَالَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ قُرْبَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ , قَالَ : فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : عَجِلْتَ ! إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَكُنْ مِنْ بُطُونِ قُرَيْشٍ ، إِلَّا كَانَ لَهُ فِيهِمْ قَرَابَةٌ ، فَقَالَ : إِلَّا أَنْ تَصِلُوا مَا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ مِنَ الْقَرَابَةِ " .
Tawoos says that a man asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the meaning of this verse: «﴿قُلْ لَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلَّا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَى﴾ [الشورى : 23]» Before he could answer, Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him) spoke up and said that it refers to the close relatives of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said, "You were hasty. In every clan of the Quraysh, the Prophet (peace be upon him) had kinship. This verse was revealed regarding this, that I do not ask you for any recompense for this message except that you maintain the ties of kinship between me and you, and at least consider this."
