Hadith 25926

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : " إِنَّ نُزُولَ الْأَبْطَحِ لَيْسَ بِسُنَّةٍ , إِنَّمَا نَزَلَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَنَّهُ كَانَ أَسْمَحَ لِخُرُوجِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that staying at the place of "Abtah" is not a Sunnah, rather the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed there only because it was easier to depart from that side.
