حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ , حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ , عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : جَاءَتْ سَهْلَةُ بِنْتُ سُهَيْلٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالَتْ : إِنَّ سَالِمًا كَانَ يُدْعَى لِأَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ , وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ أَنْزَلَ كِتَابَهُ ادْعُوهُمْ لآبَائِهِمْ سورة الأحزاب آية 5 فَكَانَ يَدْخُلُ عَلَيَّ , وَأَنَا فُضُلٌ , وَنَحْنُ فِي مَنْزِلٍ ضَيِّقٍ , فَقَالَ : " أَرْضِعِي سَالِمًا تَحْرُمِي عَلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that one day Hazrat Sahla came and said, "O Messenger of Allah! We used to consider Salim as our son, he lived with me and Abu Hudhaifa and used to see my private matters. Now Allah has revealed the command regarding adopted sons, which you also know." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Give him your milk to drink, you will become unlawful for him."
