حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , أَوْ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يُضَحِّيَ , اشْتَرَى كَبْشَيْنِ عَظِيمَيْنِ سَمِينَيْنِ أَمْلَحَيْنِ أَقْرَنَيْنِ مَوْجُوءيْنِ , فَيَذْبَحُ أَحَدَهُمَا عَنْ أُمَّتِهِ مِمَّنْ شَهِدَ بِالتَّوْحِيدِ , وَشَهِدَ لَهُ بِالْبَلَاغِ , وَذَبَحَ الْآخَرَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to offer sacrifice, he would purchase two rams which were very fat, healthy, horned, beautiful, and castrated. He would slaughter one of them on behalf of those people of his Ummah who remained firm on the declaration of the Oneness of Allah and bore witness that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had conveyed the message of Allah, and the other animal he would sacrifice on behalf of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and the family of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
