حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ , عَنْ يُونُسَ , عَنِ الْحَسَنِ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَت : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : َ " مَنْ أَحَبَّ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ أَحَبَّ اللَّهُ لِقَاءَهُ , وَمَنْ كَرِهَ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كَرِهَ اللَّهُ لِقَاءَهُ " , فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَة : ُيَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَرَاهِيَةُ لِقَاءِ اللَّهِ أَنْ يَكْرَهَ الْمَوْتَ ؟ فَوَاللَّهِ إِنَّا لَنَكْرَهُهُ , فَقَال : َ " لَا لَيْسَ بِذَاكَ وَلَكِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ إِذَا قَضَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَبْضَهُ , فَرَّجَ لَهُ عَمَّا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنْ ثَوَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَكَرَامَتِهِ , فَيَمُوتُ حِينَ يَمُوتُ وَهُوَ يُحِبُّ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ , وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ لِقَاءَهُ , وَإِنَّ الْكَافِرَ وَالْمُنَافِقَ إِذَا قَضَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَبْضَهُ , فَرَّجَ لَهُ عَمَّا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَهَوَانِهِ , فَيَمُوتُ حِينَ يَمُوتُ وَهُوَ يَكْرَهُ لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ , وَاللَّهُ يَكْرَهُ لِقَاءَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever likes to meet Allah, Allah likes to meet him, and whoever dislikes to meet Allah, Allah dislikes to meet him. Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! If disliking to meet Allah means disliking death, then by Allah, every one of us dislikes death." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "No, this is not what is meant. Rather, when Allah intends to take the soul of a believing servant, He reveals to him the reward and honor He has prepared for him with Himself, so at the time of his death, he desires to meet Allah, and Allah likes to meet him. And when Allah intends to take the soul of a disbeliever, He reveals to him the punishment and humiliation He has prepared for him with Himself, so at the time of his death, he dislikes to meet Allah, and Allah dislikes to meet him."
