It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is not permissible to shed the blood of a Muslim except for one of three reasons: committing adultery despite being married, becoming a disbeliever after accepting Islam, or killing a person for which he is killed in retaliation.
