حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا كَهْمَسٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ وَافَقْتُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ بِمَ أَدْعُو ؟ قَالَ : " تَقُولِينَ : اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ ، فَاعْفُ عَنِّي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once she submitted in the court of the Messenger, "O Prophet of Allah! Tell me, if I attain Laylatul Qadr, what supplication should I make in it?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "You should supplicate: O Allah! You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me."
