Hadith 25661

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ . وَوَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ الْمَعْنَى ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا نَعَسَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي فَلْيَرْقُدْ حَتَّى يَذْهَبَ عَنْهُ النَّوْمُ ، فَإِنَّهُ إِذَا صَلَّى وَهُوَ يَنْعَسُ لَعَلَّهُ يَذْهَبُ يَسْتَغْفِرُ ، فَيَسُبُّ نَفْسَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you feels drowsy, he should go to sleep until his sleep is complete, because if he prays while in a state of drowsiness, it is possible that he may intend to seek forgiveness but may unknowingly curse himself.
