حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ شَيْبَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَوْفَلٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُتَسَامَعُ عِنْدَهُ الشِّعْرُ ؟ فَقَالَتْ : " قَدْ كَانَ أَبْغَضَ الْحَدِيثِ إِلَيْهِ " .
Abu Nofal says that I asked Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) whether poetry was recited in the presence of the Prophet (peace be upon him)? She replied that it was the most disliked thing to the Prophet (peace be upon him).
