حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَيْسٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَائِشَةَ ، تَقُولُ : " كَانَ أَحَبُّ الشُّهُورِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنْ يَصُومَهُ شَعْبَانَ ، ثُمَّ يَصِلَهُ بِرَمَضَانَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that fasting in the month of Sha'ban was most beloved to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would join it with Ramadan.
