حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْوَلَاءُ لِمَنْ أَعْطَى الْوَرِقَ وَأَعْتَقَ وَوَلِيِّ النِّعْمَةِ " ، وَكَانَ زَوْجُهَا حُرًّا ، فَخُيِّرَتْ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The right of wala’ (inheritance of a freed slave) belongs only to the one who sets the slave free, and her husband was free, so she was given the choice.
